Hope Leadership Trust at CSW69 in New York: Speaking Up for Girls and Women Worldwide
At Hope Leadership Trust, we actively join global conversations to make sure the voices of girls and women are heard where important decisions are made. This past March, our team was deeply involved in the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York. We believe it’s vital to work directly with international leaders and advocates. This helps us influence global plans and push for fair policies that directly help girls and women, especially those who are struggling in various communities, including our own. Our ultimate aim is to make sure the progress made at these big meetings actually makes a real, positive difference in the daily lives of the women and girls we serve, fostering environments where they can grow, lead, and fully contribute to their communities.
Our time at CSW69 was more than just attending meetings; it was about strategic engagement. We smartly connected with government groups, civil society organizations, and UN agencies, sharing what we’ve learned from our grassroots programs in Kenya and other places. We presented compelling real-life examples, joined crucial side events, and contributed to expert discussions, specifically highlighting the unique challenges and triumphs of women and girls, from accessing education to building small businesses. We made sure our real experiences informed the global conversation, turning cold statistics into powerful human stories. Our team also met with leaders to push for more money to be spent on programs that truly empower women, especially in areas like getting jobs, ensuring quality education, and stopping violence against women. We actively looked for chances to work with organizations that share our goals, building stronger teams for a bigger impact. By doing all this, we aim to see concrete promises turn into action. This means better access to resources, stronger protection from violence, and more chances for women to lead around the world. We believe that when policies are shaped with the real needs of women and girls in mind, the ripple effect reaches communities creating a brighter future for everyone.
