Every great institution begins with a vision.
In the heart of Washington State, we are planting the seeds of something historic.
Pierce County will be the birthplace of the first African Cultural Center of Excellence—a landmark initiative designed to serve as a permanent home for culture, leadership, education, and community empowerment.
Surrounded by vibrant and growing neighboring counties such as King County, Thurston County, Kitsap County, and Lewis County, this region is home to one of the most diverse and rapidly expanding immigrant populations in the Pacific Northwest. Families from across Africa and around the world have made this region their home, bringing rich traditions, resilience, and dreams for a better future.
Yet despite this incredible diversity, there is still no central place where culture, identity, leadership, and opportunity come together under one roof.
At Hope Leadership Trust, we believe that time is now.
The African Cultural Center of Excellence will be a bold, community-driven space where African immigrants, refugees, youth, families, entrepreneurs, artists, and leaders can gather, learn, celebrate, and grow—while also welcoming neighbors from every background across Pierce, King, Thurston, Kitsap, Lewis, and surrounding counties.
